Innovation Takes Root at RHS Chelsea Flower Show: LettUs Grow Unveils the Future of Farming

Written by Niko Simos | May 20, 2025

Every May, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show transforms the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea into a world-renowned showcase of botanical excellence and garden design. Known for its rich legacy, royal visits, and trendsetting exhibits, Chelsea is where the future of gardening and horticulture takes center stage.

This year, the show introduced a brand-new GreenSTEM area, a dedicated space for science-led innovation in horticulture, highlighting the intersection between nature and technology. Among the pioneers in this category was LettUs Grow, a UK-based agritech firm using high-tech systems to reimagine how we grow food.

LettUs Grow: Engineering a Sustainable Food Future

LettUs Grow, founded in Bristol by engineers and plant scientists, has made a name for itself as one of the UK’s most forward-thinking agri-tech startups. Their Advanced Aeroponics™ system uses a mist-based approach to nourish plant roots without soil or submersion, saving up to 95% more water than traditional farming and completely eliminating the need for peat.

Their mission? To design systems that help build a more sustainable and resilient global food system.

Their products, like the Aeroponic Rolling Benches™ and climate-smart software platform Ostara, are now used by commercial growers, academic researchers, and vertical farm developers alike. The technology supports faster growth cycles, reduced input costs, and higher yields across a range of leafy greens and herbs, all while minimizing environmental impact.

Check out the video below to see their booth and innovative technology in action.

From curious children to seasoned investors and academic researchers, a wide range of enthusiasts flocked to the LettUs Grow stand to explore their cutting-edge aeroponic technology and its potential to revolutionize sustainable food production.

A Strategic Collaboration with CambridgeHOK

Timed with their Chelsea Flower Show appearance, LettUs Grow announced a strategic partnership with CambridgeHOK, the UK’s leading builder of controlled environment agriculture (CEA) infrastructure. This collaboration will integrate LettUs Grow’s Advanced Aeroponics™ into large-scale commercial greenhouse and vertical farm projects across the country. The partnership is part of LettUs Grow’s expanding global partner programme, aimed at scaling innovation in sustainable agriculture.

CambridgeHOK’s Alan Frampton joined the LettUs Grow team at their stand in the Great Pavilion, where attendees could experience live demonstrations of the aeroponic benches and learn how infrastructure plays a critical role in delivering high-efficiency, climate-resilient food systems.

What’s Next for LettUs Grow?

As LettUs Grow continues expanding into new markets, they’re not just selling technology, they’re shaping the future of agriculture. Their systems are already deployed in modular container farms, pilot programs in research institutions, and cutting-edge hybrid greenhouses. With climate change and supply chain instability pressing down on food systems globally, solutions like those from LettUs Grow represent a path forward for urban and peri-urban farming that’s local, low-impact, and resilient.
