About the Courses

Course 1: Introduction to Hydroponic Leafy Greens
A foundational session to understand the biology, environmental needs, and processes involved in growing leafy greens in controlled environments.
- Plant physiology: Understand how leafy greens grow at a cellular level, so you can optimize conditions for yield, flavor, and consistency.
- Natural & artificial light: Learn how to balance sunlight and LEDs to drive efficient photosynthesis and reduce energy costs.
- Climate control & climate equipment: Master the tools and strategies to regulate temperature, humidity, and airflow - key to preventing disease and boosting productivity.
- Physical indoor cultivation processes: Get familiar with day-to-day tasks like seeding, transplanting, and harvesting - so you can build efficient workflows and avoid common errors.
- Water & nutrient management: Dial in your fertigation strategy with precision—because nutrient imbalances or water waste can ruin crops and eat into profits.
- Open discussion Q&A

Course 2: Indoor Cultivation Technical & Equipment
Dive deep into the systems and tools used for leafy green production, comparing various approaches and materials.
- Facility equipment for leafy green cultivation (greenhouse & growing system): Understand the core components of greenhouse and vertical farm setups—so you can choose the right infrastructure for your goals and budget.
- Cultivation overview (from seed to harvest): Follow the complete crop cycle step-by-step to build consistency, avoid bottlenecks, and improve planning across batches.
- Substrate options (how they influence results): Compare popular growing media like rockwool, coco coir, and NFT channels, each with unique impacts on root health, moisture retention, and yield.
- Open discussion Q&A

Course 3: Operations & Tasks for Cultivation Success
Learn practical, day-to-day techniques and routines that drive efficient, healthy plant production.
- Water management, filtration & irrigation strategies (overview of choices & strategies): Explore different systems and techniques to deliver clean, consistent water - because poor water quality or delivery leads to underperformance and crop loss.
- Spacings & densities (right choices to increase efficiency): Learn how to optimize plant layout to maximize yield per square meter—without sacrificing airflow, light exposure, or plant health.
- Cultivation management (operations, do’s & don’ts): Avoid common mistakes and streamline your daily routines - from pruning to monitoring - so you can keep crops thriving and operations smooth.
- Disinfection & cleaning (requirements & activities): Implement a hygiene plan that reduces contamination risks, protects crop quality, and meets food safety standards.
- Open discussion Q&A

Coure 4: Plan the Business Economics
Understand the business side of greenhouse and vertical farming with a hands-on approach to financial and market analysis using Agritecture Designer.
- Use the platform Agritecture Designer: Leverage a purpose-built planning tool to model your farm - from layout to financial projections - based on real-world data.
- Get the CAPEX: Understand the upfront investment required for infrastructure, equipment, and installation—so you can plan and pitch with confidence.
- Estimate the OPEX: Project your ongoing operating costs—like labor, energy, nutrients, and maintenance - to identify risk points and savings opportunities.
- Calculate ROI: Measure profitability over time and test multiple scenarios - so you can make data-driven decisions before breaking ground.
- Conduct market research: Validate your target customer, pricing, and demand to ensure your leafy greens actually have a place in the market.
- Connect with equipment suppliers: Build your vendor shortlist and get insights into sourcing timelines, costs, and technical support
This interactive training aims to enhance leafy greens cultivation knowledge, provide valuable technical insights on equipment, construction, finances and support on future strategic decision-making for new or existing grower. Our goal is to ensure a seamless entry into the market by equipping participants with the necessary expertise and strategic guidance.
To maximize learning and engagement, the training is spread across four separate sessions. This structure encourages deeper interaction between topics while helping participants stay focused and retain key insights throughout the program.
